CBP Officers Seize $1.4 Million in Hard Narcotics at Laredo Port of Entry

LAREDO, Texas—U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Field Operations (OFO) officers seized hard narcotics in four separate, unrelated incidents that totaled over $1,400,000 in street value.

The first seizure occurred on June 28 at the Juarez-Lincoln Bridge, after a CBP officer referred a 2007 Cadillac Escalade arriving from Mexico for a secondary inspection. Following inspection by a canine and a non-intrusive imaging system, officers discovered packages containing 7.8 pounds of alleged cocaine and packages containing 2.51 pounds of alleged methamphetamine within the drivers’ personal belongings.

Packages containing methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl valued at more than $958,000 seized by CBP officers at World Trade Bridge.

The narcotics had an estimated street value of $110,444.

The second enforcement action that same day occurred at the World Trade Bridge, after CBP officers assigned to the cargo facility encountered a daily express consignment truck arriving from Mexico. The 2020 Freightliner and shipment were referred for a follow-up inspection that resulted in the discovery of 11.11 pounds of alleged methamphetamine within the shipment. The narcotics had an estimated street value of $222,223.

The third enforcement action occurred at the World Trade Bridge later that evening, after CBP officers encountered a tractor manifesting a shipment of plastic scrap arriving from Mexico. The 2020 International tractor and shipment were referred for a canine and non-intrusive imaging system inspection, resulting in the discovery of packages containing 19.75 pounds of alleged methamphetamine, 32.67 pounds of alleged cocaine and 22.88 pounds of alleged fentanyl within the shipment. The narcotics had an estimated street value of $958,404.

The fourth enforcement action occurred on June 29th at the World Trade Bridge after CBP officers encountered a daily express consignment truck arriving from Mexico. The 2011 Freightliner and shipment were referred for a canine and non-intrusive imaging system inspection, resulting in the discovery of 7.05 pounds of alleged methamphetamine within the shipment. The narcotics had an estimated street value of $141,094.

The four interceptions have a combined street value of $1,432,165.

CBP seized the narcotics. The cases were turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement-Homeland Security Investigations (ICE-HSI) special agents for further investigation.

“In an effort to secure our Nation’s borders, as these narcotics seizures clearly illustrate, CBP has implemented enforcement strategies that have furthered the disruption of dangerous drugs entering the country,” said Port Director Alberto Flores, Laredo Port of Entry.

Canine Detects Meth Hidden in Vehicle Headrest

YUMA, Ariz. – A Yuma Sector canine alerted Border Patrol agents to a suspicious-smelling vehicle in which one pound of methamphetamine was found hidden in a seat headrest.

At approximately 10:30 a.m. on May 28, Blythe Border Patrol agents encountered a Nissan Pathfinder as it traveled through the California immigration checkpoint on Highway 78. Agents referred the vehicle to the checkpoint’s secondary inspection area after a canine “alerted” agents something was problematic with the vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, agents discovered that one of the seat’s headrests had a plastic bag hidden inside that contained one pound of methamphetamine, worth approximately $1,800-$5,000.

Record checks conducted on the Nissan’s three occupants, all U.S. citizens from Blythe, Calif., revealed the driver, a 34-year-old male, had an outstanding warrant in El Centro, California, for a previous drug smuggling attempt five months earlier through the same checkpoint. Customs and Border Patrol (CPB) said the unnamed man was turned over to local law enforcement for the warrant and will be charged for drug possession and/or transportation for sale.

The other two passengers in the vehicle, a 26-year-old male and 31-year-old female, also had extensive criminal history with charges related to drug possession and sales. One of them was cited in this incident and both were subsequently released. (Editor’s Note: Yes, the CBP says they were “released.”)

Rio Grande Sector Border Patrol Agents Seize More Than 800 Pounds of Marijuana, Worth an Estimated $647,000

This is what about 800 pounds of marijuana looks like. This batch of pot was seized by BPD agents in Hidalgo, Texas, back in January 2018. (We assume the latest seizures weren’t as photogenic.)

EDINBURG, Texas– Over the weekend, Border Patrol agents interdicted multiple marijuana smuggling attempts, collecting a total of 810 pounds of pot with an estimated street value of $647,000.

The afternoon of Dec. 18, Brownsville Station agents in Texas observed multiple individuals near a Chevrolet Tahoe parked on the U.S. side of the Rio Grande. The Tahoe was then seen leaving the area and driving on Military Highway. Agents attempted to stop the vehicle, but the suspect failed to yield. Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) troopers in the area, assisted Border Patrol by taking over pursuit.

The driver of the Tahoe changed direction and began driving towards the Rio Grande River. The suspect vehicle was eventually driven into the river, where it was partially submerged. The driver and a passenger were seen swimming into Mexico. Agents retrieved 15 bundles of marijuana weighing approximately 348 pounds, with an estimated value of $278,000. The marijuana and vehicle were turned over to DPS.

Later that day, Fort Brown Border Patrol agents in Brownsville were alerted to three subjects carrying bundles of suspected narcotics near Highway 4. Agents searched the area where the suspects were last seen and discovered three abandoned bundles of marijuana weighing about 114 pounds with an estimated street value of over $91,000. The suspects were not located.

The evening of Dec. 20, Rio Grande City agents working near El Refugio, Texas, observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed away from Rio Grande and onto the Expressway 83. Agents then observed the vehicle drive into a nearby neighborhood. The occupants of the vehicle were seen abandoning the vehicle and running into a nearby residence. Agents inspected the abandoned vehicle and found four large bundles of marijuana inside, weighing 348 pounds with an approximate value of $278,000. The suspects were later taken into custody by the Rio Grande City Police Department, which also received the pot and vehicle.

Tucson Border Patrol Agents Arrest Felon With Homicide Conviction, 28 Others

TUCSON, Ariz. – U.S. Border Patrol agents in Arizona apprehended a group of 29 illegal aliens, including a convicted murderer, near the international border with Mexico the evening of Nov. 17.

Tucson Sector agents observed the group about eight miles north of the border in the Mesquite Mountains, located on the Tohono O’odham Indian Reservation. Agents caught up with the group and wound up arresting one Honduran, three Guatemalan, and 25 Mexican nationals, all illegally present in the United States. The group, all males, ranged in age from 15 to 41.

Records checks revealed one of the Mexican men, 31-year-old Carlos Lopez-Vazquez, was a previously removed felon, convicted of reckless homicide in Marion County, Indiana, in 2010 and sentenced to four years of confinement for his crime.

Lopez now faces federal immigration charges. The rest of the group was expelled from the country under Title 42 authority.

All people apprehended by the Border Patrol undergo criminal history checks using biometrics to ensure illegal aliens with criminal histories are positively identified.

Joint Collaboration Leads to the Discovery of Four ‘Stash Houses’ in the Rio Grande Valley, 92 Arrests

EDINBURG, Texas – Since Nov. 16, U.S. Border Patrol agents working in collaboration with state and local authorities disrupted four “stash houses,” which led to the discovery and arrest of 92 illegal aliens.

The Roma Police Department requested assistance from the Rio Grande City Border Patrol station in identifying multiple subjects at a residence in Roma, Texas on Nov. 17. Upon arrival, a police officer told Border Patrol agents the police had received a call from a concerned citizen regarding suspected illegal activities at the residence. Agents found 12 subjects at the residence, interviewed them, and determined that all were illegally present in the United States. The illegal aliens were from El Salvador, Ecuador, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Guatemala.

Later, Rio Grande Valley (RGV) Sector agents working with Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to a mobile home in Edinburg, Texas, after receiving information the home was being used to house illegal aliens.  After receiving consent to enter the home, law enforcement authorities discovered 29 illegal aliens from Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and El Salvador.

A few hours later, RGV Sector agents working in collaboration with the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office received information of a house in Palmview, Texas, operating as a human smuggling stash house. Upon arrival and entry, agents and deputies encountered seven illegal aliens inside. Agents identified them to be from Guatemala, El Salvador and Mexico.

Previousl, on Nov. 16, agents and local authorities arrested 44 illegal aliens after discovering them at a residence in Rio Grande City.

A Border Patrol spokesman said it processed the subjects and cases accordingly.

Liberals say let’s vote for ‘normalcy’, elect Biden; we say that would end the American dream

By Bruce Scott

Most of us have liberal friends and relatives who are voting for Joe Biden, not because they think he’s a wonderful choice, but because they hate Donald J. Trump. Maybe they think Trump’s rudeness outweighs all his accomplishments? Could it be they don’t know that Biden was the most corrupt vice president in history? That Joe Biden has a “For Sale” sign hung around his neck? After all, social media is suppressing stories about the Bidens’ international influence-buying scheme, as revealed on Hunter Biden’s laptop, and the mainstream media is working overtime to protect the Bidens.

Maybe your Democrat friends and relations just don’t have the same concerns you do. Maybe they view the world differently.

Social media giants are kicking conservatives off Facebook and Twitter, and slashing advertising for conservative news sites? Most liberals don’t know what you’re complaining about; nobody is cracking down on them or their opinions. But if they know about the censorship, they are in favor of it. They have no problem restricting your right to speak your mind. Your opinions are offensive — and the First Amendment you keep citing doesn’t apply to yelling “fire” in a crowded theater or saying things that offend them, or offend anyone else, either.

Democrats want to rewrite the Second Amendment? No problem. Joe Biden is planning to redefine the “right” to bear arms. According to his campaign website, he wants to ban the manufacture and sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.” He also wants to charge people who own AR-15s a retroactive fee of $200 per weapon.

no guns allowed “A tax of $200 on 18 million AR-15s means that gun owners could potentially be required to a pay a collective $3.6 billion in taxes, if this policy were enacted into legislation,” according to Breitbart News, one of the sites your Democrat compatriots believe should be banned.

Few liberals own guns, and the ones that do keep them safely locked up where no one will be tempted to use them. If they have an emergency or need help, they plan on calling 911 for the police they are planning to defund.

Tear down the border wall and open the country up to caravans of undocumented people? That’s a great idea, your liberal friends say. We should be more welcoming as a nation. We’ve been stealing other countries’ resources to enrich America, and we should make every effort to pay them back. Free healthcare for illegals — excuse me, undocumented workers? Another great idea; healthcare is a human right, like housing, food, education, clothing, etc. Who’s going to pay for it? Why, you will, of course, through higher taxes, or maybe the federal government will just print more money.

President Trump is working to keep illegal aliens, particularly criminal aliens, on the southern side of the border. As of Oct. 14, he has built more than 340 miles of wall at the United States-Mexico border. U.S. Customs and Border Protection continues to arrest smugglers, convicted sex offenders and other criminals attempting to cross into the United States.

caution border crossers

Give preferential treatment to minorities and illegal aliens over white men and native-born citizens? Your liberal friends and relations think this is another good idea. California, which often serves as the progressive model for the rest of the nation, is attempting to overturn Proposition 209, approved by voters in 1996, which abolished affirmative action. Instead, California’s Democratic triumvirate — Dems control the governorship, House and Senate — want to pass Proposition 16, which would allow the state to discriminate in favor of minorities. It’s on the state ballot this November.

According to the Los Angeles Times, passage of Prop. 16 would allow public universities, including the University of California and California State systems, to consider race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin to address diversity in admissions and other programs. Both state and local governments would be allowed to consider those same factors when hiring government employees and awarding government contracts. Conservatives look at this as “reverse discrimination,” liberals as a way to overcome “systemic racism” and achieve “equality” by institutionalizing new forms of discrimination.

women in prison Speaking of discrimination, vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris, as a district attorney and attorney general, cracked down on poor people and addicts, while turning a blind eye to police and prosecutorial corruption. Biden is one of the key architects of the failed, immoral War on Drugs, and shares responsibility for locking up tens of thousands of people, mostly minority members, on minor drug offenses. Donald Trump, on the other hand, is the architect of a successful, bipartisan criminal justice-reform bill that freed thousands of those individuals.

Federally funded, unrestricted abortion on demand, for any reason and at any time? Women’s rights are human rights, liberals say. When a counter-protester told one of the women marching against Amy Coney Barrett’s appointment to the Supreme Court that half of the aborted babies are female, she cogently replied, “I don’t give a f—.” Trump is one of the most pro-life presidents in history, another reason for liberals to hate him.

child labor safe-toys-from-china Trump wants to bring manufacturing back from China? The liberal position is this is a bad idea because it will increase global warming and hasten the end of the planet. (How Chinese manufacturing fails to contribute to climate change is never addressed.) In Trump’s first 30 months, before the pandemic, America added 314,000 manufacturing jobs. Your liberal relatives don’t need a job; they either have one that is considered “essential” (in government is best), or are retired.

Liberals believe in man-made climate change, which America is primarily responsible for, but do not believe in God — at least, not with a big “G.” Trump believes climate change is a scam, and God is real. Two more marks against him.

President Trump wants to replace a worn-out healthcare system, dubbed Obamacare, with a system that provides more choices and better service at less cost? The Democrats reply that he wants to abolish coverage of pre-existing conditions. This claim is a lie: Trump signed executive orders preserving coverage of pre-existing conditions. Your liberal relatives believe the lie. They watch CNN, the Big Three (CBS, ABC and NBC) and the Comedy channel. They listen to PBS on the radio, and look at “news” sites like the New York Times, Slate and Mother Jones. They never look at conservative news sites, which they consider fake. Self-affirmation is everything.

This Presidential race is a choice for freedom or Socialism? Your Democrat relatives and friends scoff at this idea. They don’t know, or care, that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have been endorsed by both the Revolutionary Communist Party USA and Social Democrats USA (socialists). Democratic Socialists of America members are actively campaigning for Biden.

Hunter Biden in nice suit The Chinese Communist Party has made it clear it supports Biden, the man whose son made millions of dollars from deals with companies that have CCP connections. Hunter Biden was offered $10 million a year by China’s largest energy company for “introductions alone,” according to emails on his laptop.

Your liberal friends proclaim that Donald J. Trump has been endorsed by the KKK and the Taliban — claims the Washington Post repeated. The truth is former KKK leader David Duke did endorse Trump, but the president repudiated the endorsement. Spokesmen for the Taliban denied endorsing Trump, even as Trump rejected their (fake) endorsement.

When they fill out their ballots, many of your liberal friends and relatives will vote against Trump because they hate his combative personality. They will vote for Biden, who is being portrayed by Big Tech and the media as a genial, harmless grandfather — maybe a bit addled, but affable. His running mate, Kamala Harris, is heralded as a moderate black woman. In truth, Joe Biden is an avaricious thin-skinned bully, while Harris is a hard-core leftist with the most liberal voting record in the Senate.

Your liberal colleagues and relations may say they’re just voting for “a return to normalcy” when they choose the Democrat ticket. “No more crazy tweets,” they say. “Nobody calling the fake media ‘the fake media’.” They’re willing to overlook the fact that Biden is a Chinese puppet and even more corrupt than Hillary Clinton.

They may also be voting for more handouts. As a low-income voter we know says, you have to vote for Democrats because that’s where the money comes from, the government and the Democrats.

Don’t worry if Biden and Harris win, your liberal friends and relatives will tell you. They’ll mail cookies to you in the re-education camp.

Postscript: How will your leftist friends/relatives react when Donald J. Trump wins re-election?

ICE, Border Patrol raid of Chaparral stash house results in 57 arrests

CHAPARRAL, N.M. – Continuing a recent trend, U.S. Border Patrol and ICE agents discovered a crowded stash house containing 48 illegal aliens last week.

El Paso Border Patrol Agents investigating a potential smuggling scheme encountered seven illegal aliens near the El Paso International Airport. The illegal aliens provided information that led to the discovery of four dozen other illegal aliens inside the stash house in Chaparral, New Mexico.

Following the discovery, a lawfully admitted permanent resident and his wife were arrested on smuggling charges. The aliens from Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Mexico also were arrested, making a total of 57 people taken into custody.

The Homeland Security Investigation (HSI) Agents and Immigration and Customs Enforcement Deportation Officers (ICE-DO) took part in the arrests.

The stash house discovery comes on the heels of a recent take-down last month where 32 persons were found inside of an El Paso, Texas, stash house in the Lower Valley.

“Border Patrol Agents, joined by HSI and ICE-DO identified a stash house with 48 illegal aliens inside a Chaparral, New Mexico residence,” stated El Paso Sector Chief Patrol Agent Gloria I. Chavez. “This incident demonstrates the continued exploitation by transnational criminal organizations who repeatedly use humans for profit regardless of the inherent risks including the potential for the spread of COVID-19 during the ongoing pandemic.”

Border Patrol intercepts large fentanyl load at Amado, Arizona Checkpoint

TUCSON, Ariz. – U.S. Border Patrol agents on Sept. 17 seized more than 17 pounds of fentanyl at the Interstate 19 Immigration Checkpoint near Amado, AZ, 12 miles south of Green Valley.

Tucson Sector agents at the primary inspection lane encountered a 25-year-old woman driving a Chevrolet Trailblazer around 10:30 a.m. Following a trained canine’s alert, agents referred the vehicle to secondary inspection, where X-ray scans revealed anomalies within a medical respirator on the backseat. Agents found multiple packages of suspected fentanyl pills concealed inside it.

The highly dangerous opioid pills have an approximate street value of $188,000, the Border Patrol said.

The U.S. citizen driver from Nogales, Arizona, was arrested and the fentanyl pills and vehicle seized. The case has since been taken over by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

Fentanyl is 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine, according to the U.S. Center for Disease Control.
