Washington State’s “sanctuary” laws led to murder by illegal alien, immigration reform group says

Kent, Wash. — An illegal alien charged with murder exploited “sanctuary” laws to remain in country despite numerous arrests for criminal conduct, according to an investigation by the Immigration Reform Law Institute (IRLI).

Jorge Omar Alcantara-Gonzalez, 34, is a Mexican national who was arrested in June after a multi-county 23-day manhunt in connection with the disappearance of Ian Eckles, who lived in the town of Kent, Wash. Eckles’ body has not been found. Alcantara-Gonzalez was arraigned on June 19 and entered not guilty pleas to second-degree murder and 22 other crimes. He is being held on $3 million bail.

While the case of Eckles’ disappearance is tragic, the circumstances of how Alcantara-Gonzalez managed to remain in the United States for so long are even more disturbing, the IRLI said.

King County (Wash.) Sheriff’s Office records obtained by IRLI confirm that he had been arrested at least four times in the past several years in the state. Among his charges were driving while intoxicated, theft of a motor vehicle and failure to comply. In every instance, Alcantara-Gonzalez was eventually released back into the community.  A review of court records also reveal that he relied on public defenders each time he faced the justice system.

Wanted poster for Jorge Omar Alcantara-Gonzalez

After each previous arrest, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) had issued detainer requests to King County, asking local officials to hold Alcantara-Gonzalez long enough for an ICE agent to arrive at the detention center and assume custody of him. ICE altogether lodged four different detainers on Alcantara-Gonzalez following his arrests. The detainers were ignored each time and he was allowed to go free, released back into the community to commit more crimes.

Despite his presence in the U.S. illegally and his repeated violations of the law, King County officials refused to cooperate with ICE’s request to allow a transfer of custody. Even though they were repeatedly blocked in their previous efforts to deport him, ICE announced  on May 28 it would help local law enforcement  locate Alcantara-Gonzalez after he became a suspect in Eckles’ disappearance.

“This case is a perfect storm of reckless sanctuary policies and a failure to enforce our immigration laws,” said Dale L. Wilcox, executive director and general counsel of IRLI. “The alleged perpetrator entered the U.S. illegally, re-entered after multiple deportations, committed numerous crimes and was shielded from further deportation. The family of Mr. Eckles are right to be furious about this. If not for sanctuary policies in Washington state, Mr. Eckles would likely be alive today. State and local leaders there have a lot to answer for.”

Welcome, illegal immigrants 8x5

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee, a Democrat, signed an executive order in February 2017 that forbids state agencies from enforcing federal immigration law.

Doubling down on this sanctuary measure, Inslee in May 2019 signed into law the “Keep Washington Working Act,” which prohibits jails in the state from holding detainees for federal immigration officials based solely on an ICE detainer or immigration hold. The law is considered one of the most radical sanctuary policies in the country.

“I think it’s absolutely disgusting that a form of government could release somebody like that back into the population after committing crimes in a country that they don’t belong in legally,” Nathan Eckles, Ian’s brother, said to IRLI. “This all could have been avoided so very easily if these cities that have these policies would have just let immigration do their job,” he continued.”

While state law supersedes anything passed at the local level, King County also has in place its own anti-immigration enforcement measures. An ordinance passed in November 2009 prohibits the county sheriff’s office from inquiring about an individual’s immigration status. King County includes the city of Seattle.

Supreme Court to take up Fourth Amendment warrant case involving garage door and DUI

The Supreme Court announced Monday that it will weigh in on exceptions to the Fourth Amendment’s warrant requirement. The Fourth Amendment generally requires police officers to get a warrant before entering a home.

The Supreme Court has recognized an exception to that rule for emergencies, such as when the police are in hot pursuit of a suspect. In Lange v. California, the justices agreed to decide whether that exception applies when police are pursuing a suspect whom they believe committed a misdemeanor.

California Highway Patrol logo

The case revolves around Arthur Lange of Sonoma, Calif., who was driving home on the highway in Sonoma. California highway patrol (CHP) officer Aaron Weikert pursued Lange with the intention of conducting a traffic stop. Weikert followed Lange home and activated his overhead lights, but not his siren, when he pulled into his home’s driveway.

Lange pulled into his garage and, as the garage door began closing behind him, Weikert stopped the garage from closing with his foot and approached Lange.

The CHP officer questioned Lange and asked him if he knew Weikert was following him. Lange said no. Weikert stated he smelled alcohol on Lange’s breath and charged Lange with driving under the influence. At trial, Lange claimed that Weikert’s entry into Lange’s home violated the Fourth Amendment since the CHP officer did not have a warrant to enter Lange’s home, and moved to throw out a video recording of the incident.

The trial court rejected that argument, and a state appeals court affirmed that ruling and, eventually, his conviction.

The California Court of Appeal also upheld his conviction, rebuffing Lange’s contention that the exception to the warrant requirement for a “hot pursuit” of a suspect should apply only in genuine emergencies, rather than when the police are investigating minor offenses. Instead, the court of appeal concluded, the warrantless entry did not violate the Constitution because the officer was in hot pursuit of Lange, whom he had probable cause to arrest for a misdemeanor.

Lange appealed to the Supreme Court, asking the justices to review the state court’s decision. The lower courts are “sharply divided” on the question of whether pursuits for misdemeanors justify a warrantless entry, Lange told the justices. And the California court’s rule, he added, would allow “officers investigating trivial offenses to invade the privacy of all occupants of a home even when no emergency prevents them from seeking a warrant.”

The case will likely be scheduled for argument in February 2021 or later, according to Amy Howe, writing in Scotusblog.

Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution

Bill of Rights

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Liberals say let’s vote for ‘normalcy’, elect Biden; we say that would end the American dream

By Bruce Scott

Most of us have liberal friends and relatives who are voting for Joe Biden, not because they think he’s a wonderful choice, but because they hate Donald J. Trump. Maybe they think Trump’s rudeness outweighs all his accomplishments? Could it be they don’t know that Biden was the most corrupt vice president in history? That Joe Biden has a “For Sale” sign hung around his neck? After all, social media is suppressing stories about the Bidens’ international influence-buying scheme, as revealed on Hunter Biden’s laptop, and the mainstream media is working overtime to protect the Bidens.

Maybe your Democrat friends and relations just don’t have the same concerns you do. Maybe they view the world differently.

Social media giants are kicking conservatives off Facebook and Twitter, and slashing advertising for conservative news sites? Most liberals don’t know what you’re complaining about; nobody is cracking down on them or their opinions. But if they know about the censorship, they are in favor of it. They have no problem restricting your right to speak your mind. Your opinions are offensive — and the First Amendment you keep citing doesn’t apply to yelling “fire” in a crowded theater or saying things that offend them, or offend anyone else, either.

Democrats want to rewrite the Second Amendment? No problem. Joe Biden is planning to redefine the “right” to bear arms. According to his campaign website, he wants to ban the manufacture and sale of assault weapons and high-capacity magazines.” He also wants to charge people who own AR-15s a retroactive fee of $200 per weapon.

no guns allowed “A tax of $200 on 18 million AR-15s means that gun owners could potentially be required to a pay a collective $3.6 billion in taxes, if this policy were enacted into legislation,” according to Breitbart News, one of the sites your Democrat compatriots believe should be banned.

Few liberals own guns, and the ones that do keep them safely locked up where no one will be tempted to use them. If they have an emergency or need help, they plan on calling 911 for the police they are planning to defund.

Tear down the border wall and open the country up to caravans of undocumented people? That’s a great idea, your liberal friends say. We should be more welcoming as a nation. We’ve been stealing other countries’ resources to enrich America, and we should make every effort to pay them back. Free healthcare for illegals — excuse me, undocumented workers? Another great idea; healthcare is a human right, like housing, food, education, clothing, etc. Who’s going to pay for it? Why, you will, of course, through higher taxes, or maybe the federal government will just print more money.

President Trump is working to keep illegal aliens, particularly criminal aliens, on the southern side of the border. As of Oct. 14, he has built more than 340 miles of wall at the United States-Mexico border. U.S. Customs and Border Protection continues to arrest smugglers, convicted sex offenders and other criminals attempting to cross into the United States.

caution border crossers

Give preferential treatment to minorities and illegal aliens over white men and native-born citizens? Your liberal friends and relations think this is another good idea. California, which often serves as the progressive model for the rest of the nation, is attempting to overturn Proposition 209, approved by voters in 1996, which abolished affirmative action. Instead, California’s Democratic triumvirate — Dems control the governorship, House and Senate — want to pass Proposition 16, which would allow the state to discriminate in favor of minorities. It’s on the state ballot this November.

According to the Los Angeles Times, passage of Prop. 16 would allow public universities, including the University of California and California State systems, to consider race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin to address diversity in admissions and other programs. Both state and local governments would be allowed to consider those same factors when hiring government employees and awarding government contracts. Conservatives look at this as “reverse discrimination,” liberals as a way to overcome “systemic racism” and achieve “equality” by institutionalizing new forms of discrimination.

women in prison Speaking of discrimination, vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris, as a district attorney and attorney general, cracked down on poor people and addicts, while turning a blind eye to police and prosecutorial corruption. Biden is one of the key architects of the failed, immoral War on Drugs, and shares responsibility for locking up tens of thousands of people, mostly minority members, on minor drug offenses. Donald Trump, on the other hand, is the architect of a successful, bipartisan criminal justice-reform bill that freed thousands of those individuals.

Federally funded, unrestricted abortion on demand, for any reason and at any time? Women’s rights are human rights, liberals say. When a counter-protester told one of the women marching against Amy Coney Barrett’s appointment to the Supreme Court that half of the aborted babies are female, she cogently replied, “I don’t give a f—.” Trump is one of the most pro-life presidents in history, another reason for liberals to hate him.

child labor safe-toys-from-china Trump wants to bring manufacturing back from China? The liberal position is this is a bad idea because it will increase global warming and hasten the end of the planet. (How Chinese manufacturing fails to contribute to climate change is never addressed.) In Trump’s first 30 months, before the pandemic, America added 314,000 manufacturing jobs. Your liberal relatives don’t need a job; they either have one that is considered “essential” (in government is best), or are retired.

Liberals believe in man-made climate change, which America is primarily responsible for, but do not believe in God — at least, not with a big “G.” Trump believes climate change is a scam, and God is real. Two more marks against him.

President Trump wants to replace a worn-out healthcare system, dubbed Obamacare, with a system that provides more choices and better service at less cost? The Democrats reply that he wants to abolish coverage of pre-existing conditions. This claim is a lie: Trump signed executive orders preserving coverage of pre-existing conditions. Your liberal relatives believe the lie. They watch CNN, the Big Three (CBS, ABC and NBC) and the Comedy channel. They listen to PBS on the radio, and look at “news” sites like the New York Times, Slate and Mother Jones. They never look at conservative news sites, which they consider fake. Self-affirmation is everything.

This Presidential race is a choice for freedom or Socialism? Your Democrat relatives and friends scoff at this idea. They don’t know, or care, that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have been endorsed by both the Revolutionary Communist Party USA and Social Democrats USA (socialists). Democratic Socialists of America members are actively campaigning for Biden.

Hunter Biden in nice suit The Chinese Communist Party has made it clear it supports Biden, the man whose son made millions of dollars from deals with companies that have CCP connections. Hunter Biden was offered $10 million a year by China’s largest energy company for “introductions alone,” according to emails on his laptop.

Your liberal friends proclaim that Donald J. Trump has been endorsed by the KKK and the Taliban — claims the Washington Post repeated. The truth is former KKK leader David Duke did endorse Trump, but the president repudiated the endorsement. Spokesmen for the Taliban denied endorsing Trump, even as Trump rejected their (fake) endorsement.

When they fill out their ballots, many of your liberal friends and relatives will vote against Trump because they hate his combative personality. They will vote for Biden, who is being portrayed by Big Tech and the media as a genial, harmless grandfather — maybe a bit addled, but affable. His running mate, Kamala Harris, is heralded as a moderate black woman. In truth, Joe Biden is an avaricious thin-skinned bully, while Harris is a hard-core leftist with the most liberal voting record in the Senate.

Your liberal colleagues and relations may say they’re just voting for “a return to normalcy” when they choose the Democrat ticket. “No more crazy tweets,” they say. “Nobody calling the fake media ‘the fake media’.” They’re willing to overlook the fact that Biden is a Chinese puppet and even more corrupt than Hillary Clinton.

They may also be voting for more handouts. As a low-income voter we know says, you have to vote for Democrats because that’s where the money comes from, the government and the Democrats.

Don’t worry if Biden and Harris win, your liberal friends and relatives will tell you. They’ll mail cookies to you in the re-education camp.

Postscript: How will your leftist friends/relatives react when Donald J. Trump wins re-election?

Democrats continue to pin their hopes on Joe “Beijing” Biden winning the state and presidency on vote-suppressing pollsters and Big Tech and the media’s ability to censor stories about the former vice president’s corruption.

Vote ‘NO’ on Proposition 208

Proposition 208 is the wrong plan at the wrong time. It will have far-reaching negative impacts on our economy and cause further damage to small businesses as they continue to battle back from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Passing the largest tax increase in Arizona history at our most vulnerable time is the wrong strategy!

Worse, Proposition 208 is being bankrolled by out-of-state special interest groups that are attempting to raise our taxes to the TOP TEN HIGHEST in the country, while ignoring the devastating impacts that will have on our economy.

Some Key Facts About Prop. 208, “Invest in Education Act”

Proposition 208 increases the top individual state income tax rate from the current 4.5% to 8% — a 77.7% increase, vaulting Arizona into the top-10-highest income tax rates in the country. The tax increase dramatically undermines Arizona’s welcoming environment for small businesses, which pay their taxes on the individual portion of the tax code, not the corporate tax code. Fifty percent of taxpayers whose tax rates will be directly targeted are small business owners. (Source: Goldwater Institute.)

“If Proposition 208 passes, small businesses will pay a higher top tax rate than big business—even the Fortune 500—but you wouldn’t know that by watching the proponents’ ads,” No on Prop. 208 Chairman Jaime Molera said.  “The proponents’ ads fail to disclose that Proposition 208 won’t do anything to enhance teachers’ base pay. That’s because the initiative relies on the most volatile slice of tax revenues. No school district would base its budgets and teacher contracts on such an unpredictable source.”

The proposition would funnel millions of dollars into the educational system — yes, system, not classrooms. Tax money collected via Prop. 208 “would be placed in the student support and safety fund, to be used first to pay the administrative costs of implementing, administering and enforcing the measure…”

Whatever is leftover then would be divided by formula via grants to school districts, charter schools, the state education system, etc. “The grant monies could be used for a variety of purposes,” so don’t be surprised if your tax money is used to fund new curriculum in subjects you disagree with. (1619 Project, anyone?)

VOTE “NO” on Proposition 208.

Rio Grande Valley Border Patrol Seizes Nearly a Million Dollars Worth of Drugs

EDINBURG, Texas – This weekend, Rio Grande Valley agents seized more than 400 pounds of marijuana, 15 pounds of methamphetamine, and over two pounds of heroin combined during three failed smuggling attempts.

Rio Grande Valley Sector agents working in La Rosita, Texas, observed several people carrying bundles of drugs on their backs as they walked away from the Rio Grande on Friday night, Oct. 9. The subjects continued walking north for awhile, then dropped their bundles and ran away, after apparently spotting approaching CPB agents.

The following day, Oct. 10, Rio Grande City agents responded to a reported drug smuggling attempt involving several smugglers near La Grulla, Texas. Agents searching the suspected location found four abandoned bundles of marijuana weighing more than 184 pounds, worth more than $147,000. Agents were unable to locate the smugglers.

In addition, Rio Grande Valley border agents seized 15 pounds of methamphetamine and more than two pounds of heroin during a failed smuggling attempt. The drugs have a combined value of more than $565,000.

AZ Sen. Debate: Counterfeit Kelly Has a History of Supporting Radicals

Mark Kelly claims to be an independent, but a closer look at his record shows he’s just another Democrat scam. Over more than a decade, Mark built a sophisticated political operation that funded and supported radical Democrat politicians.

Liberal logic from Kelly So while he pretends to be a moderate in Phoenix, he goes to Minneapolis and puts an arm around Rep. Ilhan Omar—the leader of the defund the police movement. Kelly’s Political Action Committee has spent more than $50 million supporting radicals, including Omar, Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, and Jerry Nadler—who led the charge to impeach the president and overturn the results of the 2016 election—to name a few.

He happily endorsed Virginia Governor Ralph Northam—best known for his blackface scandal and his vocal support for a bill that would effectively legalize late-term abortion — even after birth.

Kelly’s embrace of the most radical elements of the Democrat Party proves he’s just another one of them, despite what Counterfeit Kelly would have you believe.

White House Chief: President Trump has mild coronavirus symptoms; Wapo roots for demise

UPDATE: President Trump was discharged from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center the evening of Oct. 5 and returned to the White House. Biden’s stopped asking to measure the blinds.

Washington, D.C. – White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows confirmed on Friday morning President Donald Trump was experiencing mild symptoms from the coronavirus after his positive test announced earlier.

“The president does have mild symptoms,” Meadows said Oct. 2 to reporters outside the White House.

According to Breitbart News, Meadows said that the White House continued to follow safety protocols and that the president was working from the residence of the building,

“The American people can rest assured that we have a president that is not only on the job, will remain on the job and I’m optimistic that he will have a very quick and speedy recovery,” Meadows said.

The Chief of Staff said that doctors were monitoring the president’s health and that they would provide an update later in the day.

“I think the great thing about this president is not only is he staying committed to working very hard on behalf of the American people,” he said. “His first question to me was how is the economy doing, how are the stimulus talks going on Capitol Hill.”

On Twitter, First Lady Melania Trump also revealed that she was experiencing mild symptoms of the virus.

The president had been scheduled to visit Tucson and Flagstaff, Arizona, on Oct. 5 and Oct. 6, respectively. There is no official word on whether surrogates will continue the president’s campaign for re-election in his absence.

Meanwhile, the Washington Post was evidently rooting for Trump’s death. In an opinion tweet, since deleted, the Wapo said “Imagine what it will be like to never have to think about Trump again.”

Concerned citizen’s tip leads to Border Patrol and Webb County Sheriff’s Office shutting down stash house

LAREDO, TEXAS –   Acting together on a tip from a concerned citizen, U.S. Border Patrol agents from the Laredo South Station and Webb County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) deputies closed down a “stash house” in Rio Bravo, Texas, and arrested 39 illegal aliens.

During the late morning of Sept. 30, the agents and deputies, acting on information of a possible stash house, apprehended 39 individuals who were determined to be in the United States illegally from the countries of Mexico and Guatemala.  Two of the individuals had active arrest warrants for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol and were turned over to WCSO for extradition.

None of the individuals were wearing any personal protective equipment (PPE).  With a noted increase in COVID-19 infections among detainees, the smuggling and housing of large groups of individuals in stash houses and close quarters without PPE not only endangers the people being smuggled, but the safety of our nation, a CBP spokesman said.

The CBP did not say who owned the stash house, nor how the undocumented individuals discovered or were directed to it.
